User retention Rates; Discover Tab
planned
Ethan Kuperman
I feel as though the app, at the moment, is a simple utility. The only thing that pushes it above it’s competitors in the market is its focus on user interface and usability (such as the incredibly fast notifications, match highlights, and responsive search tab). While I think that this app is useful and probabaly will be for the next few years, I believe that eventually, it can be overtaken by other apps such as OneFootball, which provides everything this app has... and more (such as news, podcasts, etc).
Most of my friends say that they love the app, but barely check it because they favor (ever so slightly) apps that provide the whole package: News, videos, social media posts, the whole interactive side of sports apps.
The new Discover tab is approaching, and (not to infringe on the designers) it needs to be something that will change this app from a simple utility to a full-blown football app, with everything it needs to succeed. I’m not so worried about small fixes in the app, rather, I’m interested to see what Discover will bring to the table.
For some Forza Football users, it will need to be a feast.
I will create another post later highlighting how the new feature can improve user retention, but I cannot stress how important it is to design this feature in a way so that users can maintain the old “slick-UI, easy navigation” Forza feeling, but also have a new and exciting feature that will push the app forward.
